Surrounded by his wife and two children, Allan Berg passed away peacefully on June 4, 2013 in Palm Springs, CA, at the age of 80.
Surrounded by his wife and two children, Allan Berg passed away peacefully on June 4, 2013 in Palm Springs, CA, at the age of 80. Allan was born to Carl and Rena Berg, in Northwood, ND, on February 11, 1933. The family moved to the Crookston area where they farmed and Allan attended school.
He joined the military at age 17 and proudly served in the army as a lieutenant in the Korean War. He married Vivian DeBoer in Crookston and they moved to Washington state, where they lived for all of their married life. Allan was an avid golfer that loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting with him family.
Allan is survived by his wife of 59 year, Vivian; son Rick (Cheryl) of Granite Falls, WA; daughter Connie Berg (Paul) of Vancouver, WA; sister Gloria (Bill) Briden of Minnesota; four grandchildren, Nicole, Austin, Kaitlynn and Desirae, as well as sisters-in-law Jean Solheim and Pearl Radi, and brother-in-law, Francis (Colleen) DeBoer, all of Crookston. He will be greeted in heaven by his daughter, Carol Berg and brother-in-law, Claire DeBoer.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. on June 29, 2013 at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home in Everett, WA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made to the Hospice of your choice.
