  • Crookston's State Class A Track & Field qualifiers did not make it out of Friday's preliminaries as both the 4x100 relay team and Brandt Delage in the 400 meter dash competed at Hamline University in St. Paul.
The 4x100 relay team of Jacob Egeland, Brandt Delage, Blake Bergeron and Blake Brekken finished with a time of 45.91, placing eighth of eight teams in the first heat.
Two events later, Delage competed in the 400 dash where he finished in a time of 51.91, placing eighth of eight in the first heat.
The top two from each heat plus the next five best times advanced to the finals.

    Hahn wins team title
Crookston's fans are familiar with Warroad senior trackster Deidre Hahn, as her name is typically on top of many standings in area track meets.
Hahn, all by herself, won the State Class A team title for Warroad with 42 points Friday and Saturday at Hamline University in St. Paul.
Hahn took first in both the high jump and long jump Friday, and placed second in the 200 dash and third in the 100 dash Saturday.

    Biermaier is runner-up
Thief River Falls freshman Meleah Biermaier, the defending Class AA champion in the 300 hurdles, came up just short Saturday, finishing runner-up.
Biermaier, formerly of Crookston, finished with a time of 44.07, trailing Rachel Schow of Rosemount, who finished in 43.89.
