Due to an odor, employees of the wrecker service opened the trunk and found the body.
Authorities are investigating the discovery of a body in the trunk of a car towed from Brooklyn Park to a wrecker lot near downtown Minneapolis.
The Hennepin County sheriff's office was called late Monday morning to Wrecker Services Inc. The Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/13CpQbS ) reports officers were looking over the car, a gold Lexus with its trunk open.
Sheriff's spokeswoman Lisa Kiava (kee-AH'-vuh) says due to an odor, employees of the wrecker service opened the trunk and found the body. The sheriff's office and Minneapolis police responded, and Brooklyn Park police also were called in.
Kiava says the death is being investigated as a possible homicide.
A woman who owned the car showed documents to the Star Tribune and said she sold the vehicle in January.
