  • The Pirate softball team's bats recorded nine hits and took advantage of 12 walks in a 19-3 win in five innings over Bagley Thursday at Donnie Lauf Field.

    Junior Kennedy Resendiz pitched a complete game, allowing one earned run on three hits and four walks for the win.
    The Crookston bats were led by sophomore Danelle Trandem, who was 2-for-2 with two runs scored and four RBIs. Senior Kaylee Desrosier was 1-for-1 with three walks and four runs scored. Junior Carly Welter went 2-for-3 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs. Sophomore Danica Brekken was 2-for-3, while senior Taylor Demarais was 1-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
    Bagley needed three pitchers to get through the four innings of work.
    Crookston is now 6-9 on the season and will close out the regular season today on the road against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton at 5 p.m. The Pirates will take on East Grand Forks Tuesday, May 21 in the first round of the Section 8AA Tournament.
