For the second time this week the Pirate boys' tennis team beat East Grand Forks 4-3 in a dual. Crookston beat the Green Wave 4-3 on Monday in Thief River Falls and 4-3 Thursday in East Grand Forks.

Two youngsters pulled out singles wins for the Pirates as freshman Andy Gregg won easily in straight sets and eighth grader Matt Garmen also won in straight sets with a second-set tiebreaker.

Then, the upperclassmen got the wins at doubles as seniors Ethan Mercil and Cody Genereux dominated at first doubles and senior Sean Williams and junior Kal Salentiny had little trouble at second doubles.

Crookston is now 8-5 in duals this season and is travelling today to face Bemidji in the morning in Bemidji before playing Aitkin and Grand Rapids in the afternoon in Grand Rapids.
