He was a Crookston native.
Michael John Quamme, 62, of Bemidji, formerly of Grand Forks, ND, died Saturday, May 4, 2013 at his home in Bemidji.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Bemidji, MN with Rev. Genelle Netland officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with the Cease Family Funeral Home of Bemidji.
He was born on September 20, 1950, in Crookston, MN, the son of John and Grace (Knutson) Quamme. He was raised and educated in Crookston graduating High School there. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1970, and served as a Radio Man during the Viet Nam war, he was Honorably Discharged in 1973. He earned his degree from the Lake Superior College in Duluth, MN. He lived in Grand Forks, ND for over 30 years. He has worked for the Hess Corporation for 35 years and was currently working for them as Superintendent of Plant Operations at the Solar Gas Facility in Mentor, MN. He married Linda McLean on June 19, 1982 in Grand Forks, ND. They moved to Bemidji in 2011.He was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Bemidji. He enjoyed trips to the North Shore, golf, hockey, classic cars, and loved spending time with his Grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Quamme, Son, Scott (Lisa) McLean, Daughters, Shelby McLean, Shanynn McLean, Grandchildren, Cody McLean, Brooks McLean, Skyler McLean, Saige Sibble, Logan Sibble, Siblings, Gary (Barb) Quamme, Donna Szczepanski, Bev (Dennis) Bizek, Darlene (Jon) Folkedahl, Larry (Jody) Quamme, numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts, and uncles.
