Some Highland School sixth graders recently competed in Minnesota Math Masters in Bemidji. The competition consists of a 5-minute fact drill round, individual rounds, and team rounds. The team consisting of Lindsey Shaver, Jaden Lubarski, Brock Heppner, Yash Kapoor and Luke Meier, finished in third place. Kapoor placed first in the fact drill with Lubarski placing second. Lubarski was the top individual winner for the entire competition.
Crookston sixth graders recently made a trip to St. Paul to visit the James J. Hill House, Como Zoo and Conservatory, the Minnesota History Museum, and Cossetta’s Italian Restaurant. The MacMillan Minnesota Legacy Grant provided some of the funding, with additional donations from the students, the Highland PTO, the VFW, the Eagles, and the American Legion.
