A Westhope man accused of killing another city resident has pleaded not guilty to murder.
Forty-nine-year-old Timothy Mundt is accused in the early February shooting death of 40-year-old Jessie Kirk. His trial likely will be held in October. He could face life in prison if convicted.
Mundt on Monday waived his right to a preliminary hearing, meaning there was no testimony about the circumstances of the alleged killing. Authorities have not released details other than that Kirk was killed with a rifle.
