  • A lone railcar made an inaugural run along the central corridor light rail line that connects Minneapolis and St. Paul.
The railcar wasn't running on its own power, so a railcar mover pulled the car along the track from Minneapolis to St. Paul on Sunday morning so crews could work to verify clearance.
The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports (http://bit.ly/Y6GUYQ ) the railcar moved faster than expected, making the trip in about five hours instead of the estimated eight to 12.
When the train is operating, the 11-mile route will take 39 minutes.
The Metropolitan Council says the project is 92 percent complete and is expected to open for riders sometime next year.
