The new $4 million turf in the Alerus Center in Grand Forks is being torn out and replaced only seven months after it was installed.
Operations Manager Jeremy Linstad tells the Grand Forks Herald that the problem isn't with the turf itself. He says staff members have encountered problems while converting the arena to a football field. At times, the problems left some of the football field sidelines out of alignment last season.
The AstroTurf company is replacing the turf free of charge.
