  • National Weather Service hydrologists have issued their first crest forecast for the Red Lake River in Crookston, and it indicates a crest of 22.3 feet on April 30.
    Friday, the river was rising at a rapid clip, and at press time was at a fraction more than 13 feet.
    The warm-up is impacting overland flooding as well. The Polk County officials report that Polk County Highway 21, west of Minnesota Highway 220, has water over the road for approximately one mile.
