  • Students protesting Macalester College's ties to Wells Fargo have ended their sit-in after the college president agreed to a meeting.
The students began their protest Tuesday at the St. Paul college. On Thursday, organizers say the students blocked outside doors to Weyerhaeuser Hall, where the college's administrative offices are located, and refused to let anyone enter until college President Brian Rosenberg agreed to meet with them.
Rosenberg agreed to meet with the demonstrators about the college's relationship with Wells Fargo on Friday.
Macalester runs its purchasing card system through Wells Fargo for the college to buy goods and services.
The student group, "Kick Wells Fargo Off Campus," is associated with Occupy Homes MN, a group fighting foreclosures by Wells Fargo and other large banks.
