  • UMC equestrian team helps girl scouts earn badges in community engagement event

  • The University of Minnesota Crookston women’s equestrian team hosted a community service engagement activity April 17, 2013 at the University Teaching and Outreach Center. The Golden Eagles helped the Dakota Horizons Girl Scout Troop No. 20038 from the Climax/Shelly area participate in earning their horse badge with the equestrian team athletes.
     
    The girls worked on horse care, grooming, saddling, horse colors and identification, and basic riding skills. Participants from the troop No. 20038 included Gracie Rouland, Ava Larson, Kylie and Emma Anderson, Gabriella Smith-Garcia, Mariah and Lindsey Kurz, Libby Koerber, Courtney Vatnsdal, Morgan Gunderson and Ella and Lucy Paulsrud.
