April 21-27 is National Volunteer Week.

During the week of April 21-27, the Villa St. Vincent/Summit is saluting its volunteers as a part of National Volunteer Week. National Volunteer week was established in 1974 by President Richard Nixon.

Wednesday, April 24 will be Volunteer Appreciation Day to honor individuals who dedicate themselves to others at the Villa.

"We have the best, most dedicated and respected group of volunteers at the Villa St. Vincent/Summit," said Enrichment Coordinator Tamara Parkin. "Villa volunteers give countless hours of their time and talents to make others happy.  In 2012, 23 youth and 50 adults donated over 4,150 hours of time. Volunteers are priceless and are very important to our facility."

It is the Villa's hope that everyone will take the opportunity to thank a volunteer this week and make plans to volunteer themselves. For more information about volunteering at the Villa St. Vincent/Summit, contact Tamara at 281-9723 or tamara.parkin@bhshealth.org.
