  • Crookston's Mackenzie Epema, Catherine Tiedemann, MaKenna Aure and Brynne Folden, along with C.J. Lanctot of Red Lake Falls were all part of the 10U team. Samantha Sanders skated on a Selects team that finished third.

  • The Northern Wings 10U girls' hockey team won the SuperSeries AAA opener in St. Cloud with a number of area girls participating. Crookston's Mackenzie Epema, Catherine Tiedemann, MaKenna Aure and Brynne Folden, along with C.J. Lanctot of Red Lake Falls were all part of the team.
     
    The Wings defeated the Rage 2-0, then the Renegades 12-2, before beating the Xtreme by the score of 1-0 in back-to-back games. Tiedemann scored the game-winning goal in the championship on an assist from Folden.
     
    Samantha Sanders skated with the 2003 North team in the Hockey Selects last week in St. Cloud, where they finished in third place.
