Early Tuesday evening fire appeared to do significant damage.
Crookston firefighters early Tuesday evening had to gain better access to a chimney fire at 110 Newton Avenue on Crookston’s south end by sawing through the roof of the structure.
The call came in minutes before 5 p.m. and firefighters were on the scene well into the evening. Although they’re still figuring out what caused the fire and how much the structure was damaged, it appeared to have suffered fairly extensive damage to its interior from the fire as well as water and smoke.
The CFD reports that one firefighter suffered a minor injury while on the scene. No one else was hurt.
Crookston Police and Crookston Area Ambulance Service personnel assisted at the scene.
