  • A Minnesota House committee is issuing its bill to finance a range of public construction projects, a day after Gov. Mark Dayton laid out his priorities.
House Capital Investment Committee Chairwoman Alice Hausman says the proposal to be unveiled Tuesday will overlap some with Dayton's plan but will also have some distinct differences.
She says the House proposal will recommend borrowing for civic centers in Mankato, Rochester and St. Cloud. It will also provide the latest installment of state Capitol renovation dollars. But she says she won't have as much as Dayton for a Minneapolis veterans' home project or for a pricey University of Minnesota physics laboratory.
Hausman, a St. Paul Democrat, needs to round up at least eight Republican votes to pass her bill off the House floor.
