  •  A neighbor says he wishes he could have done more to save the victims of an apartment fire Saturday in Fargo.
Jerome Jangula tells the Fargo Forum (http://bit.ly/Y51KVv ) that he and another neighbor tried to get into the apartment where the fire apparently started, but the smoke prevented them from doing so.
Thirty-year-old Jesse Daniel Madson died at the scene, and 42-year-old Angela Marie Wentz was taken to a burn unit in Minneapolis.
Jangula says he and a neighbor opened the apartment door and yelled, but got no answer. He says his neighbor got five feet into the apartment, but could go no farther. Jangula says the smoke nearly overtook him and his neighbor as they moved to get out of the apartment building.
