Stocks of wheat and most other major crops in North Dakota are up compared to a year ago.
The Agriculture Department says in its latest report that on-farm and off-farm stocks of all types of wheat totaled 144 million bushels on March 1, up 38 percent from 2012.
Stocks of other crops in the state also are up substantially. The report says oats are up 10 percent, sunflowers are up 43 percent, corn is up 50 percent and barley is up 71 percent.
Stored soybeans in North Dakota have dropped 27 percent from last year.
