The United Way of Crookston has wrapped up the most successful campaign in its history, with $216,000 in pledges, shattering the old record. The UW Board of Directors would like to say thank you to the employees, businesses and volunteers that made it possible.
This year the board has decided to change up the annual meeting and awards dinner and make it a fun, family affair. On Tuesday, April 16 beginning at 5 p.m., the United Way of Crookston will be hosting the First Annual Spring Fling Community Celebration at Crookston Sports Center.
The Spring Fling will include food, music, inflatable games, open skating, photo booth and booths from partner agencies of the United Way. There will be a free-will offering.
Another unique feature of the event will be a drawing to award two grants to partner agencies of the United Way. Everyone that attends will have a chance to register for a drawing that will take place at the end of the event. Two names will be drawn and those two people will get to pick a $500 and $250 grant, respectively, to a recipient from a list of United Way partner agencies.
Sponsoring partners for this event are Hugo’s, Crookston Blue Line Club and Games Galore.
