The Minnesota Crookston women’s golf team finished the Wayne State Spring Invite with a fourth place finish out of five teams. The Golden Eagles were led by freshman Katie Sheetz (Grand Rapids, Minn.), who finished in 11th place after shooting a 92 Saturday to go with her 87 on Friday. Sheetz would shoot a 35-over-par overall over the two days.
Nebraska-Kearney earned the team victory in the tournament after turning in a team score of 675 overall. Katie Krutchen of St. Cloud State picked up the individual victory after shooting a two-round score of 161, which was 17-over-par.
In addition to Sheetz, sophomore Mary Mikutowski (Stillwater, Minn.) shot a 196 for 52-over-par and an 18th place finish. Kari Bodine (Jr., Babbitt, Minn.) shot a two-round score of 212 and finished in 23rd place. Rikki Roscoe (Fr., Big Stone City, S.D.) turned in a 213 and finished in 24th place while Kelly Gustafson (Jr., Hermantown, Minn.) shot a 219 and finished in 25th.
The UMC women’s golf team will head to the Upper Iowa Invite at the Preserve on Rathbun Lake Golf Course at Honey Creek Resort State Park in Moravia, Iowa April 7-8.
