  •     Crookston's 12th annual Month of the Young Child will celebrate children and families in April. The Crookston celebration is part of a national celebration with the purpose being to focus on the needs of young children and their families. The local MOYC, which consists of 12 collaborating agencies, provides new and exciting opportunities each year for families in the Crookston community. This year the theme is "KIDS InMotion", and families are invited to four free events.

Action will be centered in the gymnasium with over 13 stations set up with creative and fun activities for children ages 1-8 years of age (i.e. stunts & tumbling, parachute, obstacle course, balls and hoops, dancing, scooter games, large blocks, etc.). Approximately 20 health and informational booths wills also be set up in the gymnasium this year. A healthy meal will be provided in the Commons area.
The second event is "KIDS InMotion at the Cinco de Mayo" which is scheduled for Friday, April 12 at UMC in the Bede Ballroom and Sargeant Student Center area. The children's arts and craft activities will begin at 3:30 p.m. and continue to 6:30 p.m. Other highlights will include authentic food and music, art activities and Mexican dancers scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m in Kiehle Auditorium.
The third MOYC event will be "KIDS E-Motion at the Crookston Library." It is scheduled for Tuesday, APril 23 from 6-7:30 p.m..
