The Golden Eagles were led by Matt McClure (So., Grand Rapids, Minn.), who shot a 12-over-par 152 to finish in a tie for 16th place.
The Minnesota Crookston men’s golf team finished the 2013 University of Arkansas-Fort Smith Lions Classic with a two-round score of 634 to finish eighth out of nine teams. The Golden Eagles were led by Matt McClure (So., Grand Rapids, Minn.), who shot a 12-over-par 152 to finish in a tie for 16th place.
Jesse Roscoe (So., Big Stone City, S.D.) shot a 156 to finish in a tie for 26th while Blake Held (So., Cold Spring, Minn.) shot 159 to finish in a tie for 32nd. To round out the Golden Eagle scores, Michael Roedl (R-Fr., Minneapolis, Minn.) shot a 167 and Seth Heppner (So.,Crookston, Minn.) turned in a 180.
Charle Saxon, competing as an individual for the University of Oklahoma of NCAA Division I and the Big 12 Conference, won the tournament after shooting a one-over-par 141. Oklahoma Christian University won the team title for the UAFS Lions Classic.
The Golden Eagles will return to play March 29-30 at the Wayne State College Spring Invite in Wayne, Neb.
