  • The Three Affiliated Tribes in western North Dakota is spending $1 million on an effort to battle what it calls an illegal drug epidemic.
    The Minot Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/1051eIw ) that the tribe recently created a drug task force that meets monthly, and a three-day conference on fighting substance abuse was held this past week at the 4 Bears Casino and Lodge.
    Tribal Chairman Tex Hall says drugs and alcohol are not part of the culture, and the tribe has created "a war on drugs."
