  • The Crookston Crocs swim team finished tenth overall with 560 team points in the three-day North Dakota State Meet at Hyslop Pool in Grand Forks last weekend.

Kate MacGregor medaled in all six of her events, including a pair of first places in the 100 and 200 backstroke. Jaden Lubarski racked up three first place finishes in the 50 backstroke and 50 and 200 freestyle.

"We had four swimmers who had an outstanding meet and they were Emma Boerger, Elizabeth Erdman, Jaden Lubarski and Kate MacGregor," noted Crocs coach Ken Stromberg. "Kate MacGregor was the only swimmer to medal in all six of her individual event. These swimmers were also at the top of their age group which really helps them out. The other swimmers were at the bottom of their age groups and will help them place much higher next year. The Crocs scored the most points at state this year since I have been coaching."

Coach Stromberg was grateful to all the help from the parents.

"The parents helped put on this state meet and also did an outstanding job," he said. "This was a lot of work for the parents and swimmers alike to get such an outstanding job done this year and I can’t thank them enough. The Crocs will be on break until the pool work is done and they start up around the first of June."
