The ousted commander of Grand Forks Air Force Base says the Air Force's decision to relieve him of command because of his failure to comply with physical fitness standards is "right, just and fair."
Col. Tim Bush tells the Grand Forks Herald (http://bit.ly/WEzKuq ) that commanders have to meet the standards they expect of the people they oversee.
Bush was relieved of command of the 319th Air Base Wing on Wednesday. He isn't criticizing the Air Force. He says he spent more time than he would like doing administrative work and isn't in the best shape. He plans to retire from the military.
Vice Commander Col. Christopher Mann has assumed command. Bush says he's confident in Mann.
