  • Gov. Jack Dalrymple and Microsoft officials have announced a public-private partnership to bring Microsoft training and resources to the state's students.
The Forum reports (http://bit.ly/13YqC8o) that the aim of the partnership — called "Digital Alliance" — is to boost skills in education, employability and entrepreneurship, with a specific focus on science, technology, engineering and math.
Dalrymple says officials hope the alliance will improve technology access, education improvement and training for students, residents and small businesses.
Microsoft officials did not have a dollar figure for the initial three-year commitment. Kristin Rhodes, Microsoft's general manager of U.S. education, says most of Microsoft's contribution will be in-kind work.
