A gun raffle meant to double as a fundraiser for the West Fargo Hockey Association has been delayed for a month because of "anticipated turnout."
The association's website posted that the raffle, which had been planned for Friday, is postponed until April 13 because organizers have "encountered permitting issues." The turnout was expected to be so large that it was moved from an events center in West Fargo to a Holiday Inn in Fargo.
The gaming permits pulled in West Fargo won't transfer to the new location.
Association Business Manager Mark Lester tells KVLY-TV (http://bit.ly/YuIJdW ) that the group will go through a review process with the gaming auditor in Fargo in hopes of getting approval.
North Dakota gun shops have reported shortages of firearms and ammunitions in recent months.
