Twin Cities group will also perform public concert on March 19.
The Crookston School Music Department next week will host the Copper Street Brass Quintet, which will be participating in a three-day residency in the local schools. The Copper Street Brass Quintet is a professional performing group based in the Twin Cities.
Beginning on Monday, March 18 and ending on Wednesday, March 20, the residency will include K-12 students and music ranging from classical to rock, said Crookston band instructor Christopher Brandt.
As part of the residency, the Copper Street Brass will provide a public concert on Tuesday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m. in the CHS auditorium. Admission to the concert is free, but a free-will offering will be taken to defray the costs of the residency. Community members interested in learning more about the Copper Street Brass can go to csbq.org or contact Brandt at the high school.
This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota, through grants from the Northwest Minnesota Arts Council thanks to a legislative application form the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.
