There's still time to make sure you're in the database.
The Polk County Sheriff's office will test the county's new CodeRED emergency communications system on Monday, March 18.
The CodeRed system provides Polk County officials with the ability to quickly deliver messages to target areas of the county or county-wide, if necessary.
"County residents will receive notification from CodeRED over their land lines or cell phones," said Sheriff Barb Erdman.
For those who may be uncertain they are included in the database, log onto co.polk.mn.us and follow the link to the CodeRED Community Notification Enrollment page or call Polk County Emergency Management at 281-0437.
It is recommended all businesses register, as well as individuals with unlisted phone numbers, anyone who has changed their phone number or address within the past year, and those who use a cell phone or Voice Over Internet Phone as their primary number.
Polk County residents with any questions about the new CodeRed emergency alert system are encouraged to call Nancy Shafer, Polk County Dispatch Supervisor/Emergency Manager at 281-0437 or Sheriff Erdman at the PCSO at 281-0431.
