Brooklyn Park officer accused of excessive force

A drunken driving suspect who suffered head injuries in a police station holding room has filed a federal lawsuit against the Brooklyn Park officer who arrested him.

Amos Togbeson Jr. accuses Officer Michael Wrobel of using excessive force following his arrest on April 8, 2012. Togbeson wants $500,000 in compensation.

Videotape from the holding room shows Wrobel trying to restrain Togbeson and the two land on the floor.

Togbeson's attorney tells KSTP-TV, the officer "pile drives" Togbeson's head onto the floor, causing a bleeding head injury which required 13 stitches. Wrobel's report says he slipped on Togbeson's urine and the two ended up on the ground.

Wrobel was also part of a 2010 lawsuit accusing him of excessive force. That lawsuit was eventually settled for $52,000,
