Sophomores Sydney Boike and Kenzie Klatt each had 14 for Crookston.
The Pirates took care of business Saturday afternoon, finishing the regular season with a 73-66 win over Section 8AA North rival Crosby-Ironton. The Pirates earned the top seed in the subsection and begin their postseason run Saturday at Bemidji State.
Sophomores Sydney Boike and Kenzie Klatt each had 14 for Crookston, while sophomore post Brooke Heggie added ten and both seniors Taylor Demarais and Katie Davidson had eight points.
Chelsey Bonsante led Crosby-Ironton with 18 points, while Meredith Silgen and Shannon Lundgren each had 17.
The Pirates used eight threes, including three by Klatt, in the first half to carry a 37-34 lead into halftime.
Crosby-Ironton went on a 7-0 run to start the second half, but Crookston closed the gap with about ten minutes remaining and went on an 11-2 run over about seven minutes to put the game out of reach. Crosby-Ironton did not record a field goal in the final nine minutes.
The Pirates enter the postseason with a mark of 19-5 and will face the winner of No. 5 Bagley and No. 4 Warroad. Hawley earned the top seed in the Section 8AA South.
The Section 8AA semifinals will be Tuesday, March 5 with the finals Friday, March 8 at Bemidji State.
