The lab rats are back, and they're up to more business of bionic measures. Disney XD's highest ranked series, Labs Rats, returns with its second season Monday night (9/8c), and the premiere takes the teenage super-humans through super speedy adventures. "Our hope for this season is to attract new viewers, while at the same time delivering even better episodes to our fans who have been loyal since we started airing," says co-creator and executive producer Chris Peterson.
Lab Rats features Leo, a teenage boy whose genius stepfather Davenport invented a group of teens - aka his pseudo-siblings - who have super powers. Leo, along with Adam, Bree and Chase, try to balance a normal family life along with high-stakes missions.
Monday's mission? Traveling to the bottom of the Pacific Ocean for a high-speed ride in a self-driving sports car. "We're extremely proud of Season 2 because everything feels bigger and better," says Peterson. But it's not all fun and games. "We delve into the origins of the Lab Rats," reveals co-creator and executive producer Bryan Moore, who worked with Peterson on That '70s Show. "We discover that what they've been told may not necessarily be the truth." So can viewers expect to tune into the truth? "A lot of viewers have asked how Adam, Bree and Chase ended up with Davenport," says Moore. "That question will be answered."
