Pirate senior Ryan Edevold earned his first hat trick of the season Friday to lead Crookston in a 6-4 win over Section 8A rival Lake of the Woods in Baudette.

Freshman Doug Larson put the Pirates on the board at the four-minute mark of the first period with his seventh goal of the season.
Crookston went up 3-0 in the second period with Edevold's first goal at the 11:50 mark on a power play and senior Dylan Klatt's eighth of the season. Senior Brady Heppner assisted on Edevold's goal while Larson assisted on Klatt's.
Lake of the Woods quickly closed the gap with three goals in the first half of the third period. Blake Olson started it at the 2:33 mark on a power play, while Logan Jackson added the second at 7:02 and Victor Dahl scored a power play at 8:34.
Crookston promptly took back its three-goal lead, however, when senior Ryan Bittner got his 15th of the season at 9:56 and Edevold got his 16th and 17th goals of the season at 12:23 and 15:59.
Dahl cut it to a two-goal deficit for Lake of the Woods with 20 seconds remaining but it wouldn't be enough.
The Pirates move to 12-12 on the season and will book end its regular season Tuesday when it hosts Red Lake Falls at 7 p.m. Crookston beat Red Lake Falls on the road 5-1 to start the season on Nov. 27.
