Barton tentatively accepts offer, contingent on another employment offer he's considering.
One of three people interviewed for the City of Crookston's vacant information technology director position has been offered the job and has tentatively accepted, City Administrator Tony Chladek said Monday, but Philip Barton's acceptance is contingent on consideration of another employment offer he will learn more about later this week.
The Crookston City Council's Ways & Means Committee, which will meet following Monday evening's 7 p.m. council meeting, will discuss Chladek's recommendation to hire Barton. The starting annual salary range for the position is $45,000 to $58,000, and the interview panel has recommended that the council approve Barton being paid $50,000 a year. If he receives favorable evaluations beginning after six months and continuing through 2014, he'd be eligible to make $58,000 a year.
The city has been looking for an IT director since Tom Lindo resigned earlier this winter to take a job with Altru Health System.
