Chladek hopes to have recommendation for city council next week.
When City Administrator Tony Chladek last month told members of the Crookston City Council that no one in the pool of applicants seeking to become Crookston’s informational technology director met the minimum qualifications and, therefore, didn’t warrant an interview, council members suggested that the application window, which had expired, be left open in the hope that better candidates would apply.
The move appears to have paid off, possibly. Two applicants seeking to succeed Tom Lindo, who took a job with Altru Health System, were interviewed late last week and a third interviewed Monday. But only one of the candidates applied after the previous discussion with the council, he said, adding that the other two interviewees were among the initial pool of applicants and that they subsequently reapplied, adding more detailed information about their experience and qualifications and how they specifically fit the city’s IT needs.
Chladek said he’s hoping he’ll have someone to recommend for hiring to the city council next week.
