The Hennepin County Attorney's office says Catchings is likely to get more than 38 years in prison.

A 16-year-old boy has pleaded guilty to fatally shooting a 13-year-old as the younger boy rode a bicycle with his friends in Minneapolis two years ago.

Derrick Deangelo Catchings pleaded guilty in adult court Tuesday to second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder for shooting and killing Rayjon Gomez and wounding another boy in a north Minneapolis alley in August 2011.

The Hennepin County Attorney's office says Catchings is likely to get more than 38 years in prison.

The Star Tribune (http://bit.ly/XLE34L ) reports sentencing is scheduled for May 20. Several other counts in the indictment will be dropped at that time.
