  • UMC's Campbell: First a 'Queen,' now a 'Princess'

  • The American Beekeeping Federation is proud to announce that Emily Campbell was selected as the 2013 American Honey Princess at the North American Beekeeping Conference in Hershey, PA in January.  
        Emily is the 19-year-old daughter of Becky Zenke of Aitkin, Minn., and of Erich Campbell of Holton, Kan., and the granddaughter of Robert and Irma Rom of Aitkin, Minn.  She is a freshman at the University of Minnesota, Crookston, where she is pursuing a degree in large animal veterinary medicine.  Emily is a first generation beekeeper, keeping bees as a hobby. 
     
    Prior to being selected as the American Honey Princess, Emily served as the 2012 Minnesota Honey Queen.  In this role, she promoted the honey industry at fairs, festivals, and farmers’ markets, via media interviews, and in schools.
