Seniors will be at sub-section round Wednesday in Mahnomen.
Crookston High School has chosen two finalists for the Triple A award, seniors Alec Boike and Katie Davidson. This award is designed to recognize those senior students who are excelling in the academics, arts, and athletics. The specific requirements for a student to be eligible for this award are as follows:
• Be a senior in high school
• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Participate in a League-sponsored fine arts and/or athletic activity
• Comply with the MSHSL student Code of Conduct
Alec is an A Honor Roll student with a GPA of 4.0. His Advance Placement course work includes Calculus, Biology, and Literature. Alec is also a three sport athlete in soccer, basketball, and track. He has been selected as a senior captain of the track team and was an All Conference Track participant in past seasons. Alec also participated on the team that qualified for the Track Coaches Association True Team State Tournament. He has also participated in band throughout high school. Alec is the son of Lon and Chris Boike.
Katie is an A Honor Roll student with a GPA of 4.0. Her Advance Placement course work includes Calculus, Government, and Literature. Katie is also a three sport athlete in volleyball, basketball, and track. She has been selected as a senior captain in all three sports. Katie has been an All Conference basketball player the past two seasons. She participates in the choir, as well as the MSHSHL solo/ensemble contests. Katie, a tw-time intern and independent study student staff writer at the Crookston Daily Times, is the daughter of Dave and Kim Davidson.
Alec and Katie will represent Crookston High School at the Sub-Section selection round which will be held at the Shooting Star Casino in Mahnomen on Wednesday, Feb. 6.
