Funeral service is Feb. 5.

Scott John Proulx, age 31, Moorhead, MN, and formerly of Crookston died Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at his residence in Moorhead.

    Scott was born on November 15, 1981 in Crookston, MN, son of John and Janice (Fetsch) Proulx.  He grew up and was educated in the Crookston (MN) area, graduating from Crookston High School in 2000.  He then attended St. Cloud State University, where he graduated with a degree in economics.  He worked for TCF Bank in Minneapolis for a time.  He then returned to Crookston and worked at New Flyer, before moving to Moorhead three years ago.  He had worked at the Walgreen’s in Moorhead and recently started at the Holiday Gas Station there.

    Scott played football and golf while in high school.  He enjoyed waterskiing, snowmobiling and downhill skiing.  He watched sports of all kinds, college and professional, sometimes driving his family to distraction with his channel surfing to keep up with the games.  He liked to help out on the farm, especially at harvest time.   Family gatherings at the lake were also special, particularly the volleyball games.  Scott was an avid reader and loved to play a good game of Whist.  He was also a deer hunter and liked spear fishing.

    Scott is survived by his parents: John & Janice Proulx of Red Lake Falls; a sister: Kimberly (John Jr.) Grahek of Grand Forks; three brothers:  Richard Proulx of St. Hilaire, Rob Proulx of Crookston, and Eric Proulx of Red Lake Falls; maternal grandmother: Olga Fetsch of Grand Forks; paternal grandparents: Earl & Peggy Proulx of Crookston; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Eugene Fetsch.

    The funeral mass for Scott will be held at 2:30 PM, Tuesday, February 5th, 2013 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston, with the Rev. Mike Foltz, officiating.  Visitation will be at the church, Monday, February 4th from 5 to 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 7 PM, and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.  Interment will be in the St. Dorothy Cemetery, Dorothy, MN.
