  •     At the organization's annual dinner and meeting Monday evening at the University of Minnesota, Crookston, it was announced that RiverView Healthcare Association is being honored with the prestigious Fire Starter Award, given by the Studer Group, a company that works with hundreds of  healthcare organizations in the United States, assisting them in achieving and sustaining exceptional clinical, operational and financial outcomes.
As the February 2013 Healthcare Organization of the Month for Smaller Markets, RiverView Health has demonstrated an "outstanding commitment to showing improvement in all areas of care, including rising into the top twentieth percentile in nursing, pain management and doctor communication." Over the past two years the Studer Group's statistics have also shown extensive growth in RiverView's communication with medication and discharge instructions.
The award, in the form of a crystal flame, was presented via video at Monday's event in the Sargeant Student Center Bede Ballroom by Quint Studer, chairman and CEO of the Studer Group. He summed up RiverView Health's accomplishment by saying, "You are living your mission statement, delivering a healthcare experience that consistently exceeds patient expectations."
"It's a great honor," RiverView President/CEO Ross Matlack said after the presentation.
