The Pirates are now 10-10 on the season and will host Fargo North Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

The Pirates have had a difficult time finding consistency this season. They hope that got fixed following a 4-2 loss to Thief River Falls Friday in Crookston, but rebounded Saturday, overcoming a broken down bus on the trip to Baudette, Minn., to beat Lake of the Woods 9-0.

The Crookston bus broke down somewhere near Thief River Falls Saturday morning and the team was able to borrow a bus from Thief River Falls to continue their trip.

The Pirates are now 10-10 on the season and will host Fargo North Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. They will travel to East Grand Forks Thursday for a key section matchup against the Green Wave.

Pirate senior defenseman Brianna Breiland scored the first and last goal of the game but Crookston couldn't put the puck in the net in between the two goals.

Frances Marshall recorded 11 saves in goal for the Prowlers, while Pirate eighth grader Lexie Cormican had 21 saves.

Breiland put the Pirates up 1-0 at the 2:13 mark of the first period, but Thief River Falls' Brandi Malwitz tied it about two and a half minutes later.

Breiland notched her 41st goal of the season with 4:25 left in the third period with a power play goal assisted by junior forward Amber Trostad.

The Pirates took it to the 2-13 Lake of the Woods Saturday as Emily Ney stopped 55 shots in goal for the Bears.

Pirate junior goalie Erica Allrich got her first career varsity start and recorded a 16-save shut out victory.

Breiland had a hat trick and two assists, while Trostad recorded her fourth and fifth goals of the season and two assists.

Trostad opened up the scoring at the 3:01 mark of the first period and Breiland followed at 5:29 with junior center Lizzy Awender making it 3-0 with her fifth goal at 14:47 and freshman center Sabrina Delorme scoring her third with 58 seconds left, a shorthanded goal assisted by Breiland.

Breiland made it 5-0 just 1:04 into the second period on an assist from Trostad, while freshman Leah Trostad scored her second of the season, a power play goal, at the 4:38 mark with assists from Amber Trostad and Awender.
