The Pirates made some tweaks to their lineup recently and senior Brianna Breiland, now playing defense, scored two goals Thursday in Bemidji, but the Pirates couldn't muster anymore offensive as Bemidji won 3-2 in overtime.
Breiland is now one point away from 200 career points.
Eighth grade Lexie Cormican and Bemidji's Morgan Miller each had 25 saves.
Following a scoreless first period, Bemidji's Karleigh Wolkerstorfer made it 1-0 at the 4:57 mark of the second. Megan Dondelinger followed suit about three minutes later.
Crookston got on the board with Breiland scoring with 7:53 left in the second period on an assist from senior Kaitlin Spviey.
The Pirates got the lone goal of the third period on an unassisted goal with 7:07 remaining.
Dondelinger poked in the game-winning goal just 1:28 into the overtime period.
Crookston, 9-9 on the season, has alternated wins and losses in its last 14 games.
The Pirates will have a busy weekend with Thief River Falls coming to Crookston to make up the postponed game on Tuesday. The Pirates will face Lake of the Woods in Baudette Saturday.
