  •     Everybody goes through challenges in life and sometimes it's hard to express in words how we feel. Sometimes we have to use other methods to heal. Starting in February, there will be a weekly "healing through art" program at First Presbyterian Church in Crookston. It will run on Saturday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon on Feb. 2, 9, 16 and 23 as well as the same dates in March.
Each session is designed to assist children and adults in expressing themselves in healthy ways, to be creative problem-solvers when faced with challenges in their lives and to view themselves in positive and uplifting ways. It will give the chance to have fun, be creative and inspirational. No artistic abilities are necessary. Trey Everett, who is coordinating the event, says, "It's meant to be a fun time to get away. It's geared to be creative."
Registration for adults will cost $20 for all eight sessions, and children in 4th grade and up that are accompanied by a parent are free. To register, call Trey at 281-4853 or email him at trey.crxpres@midconetwork.com. if you happen to miss a session, Everett says not to worry about it. "It's not something if you miss one time, you won't be able to participate in any others. Each one is a little different. People can pick and choose."
