  • Four Pirates scored in double figures as Crookston won its sixth consecutive game to improve to 11-2 Thursday with a 73-36 win over Red Lake on the road.
     
    Pirate sophomore Sydney Boike scored 15 points and is now averaging 16.7 in 13 games this season. Sophomores Danica Brekken and Brooke Heggie each added 12 points, while senior Taylor Demarais scored 11. Senior Kaylee Desrosier and sophomore Amber Froeber each recorded seven points.
     
    Red Lake's Averi Holthusen led all scorers with 16 points.
     
    The Pirates built a 33-16 lead at halftime and outscored Red Lake 40-20 in the second half.
     
    Crookston will take on Frazee, who is 12-2 on the season, Saturday at Concordia-Moorhead following the boys' game, which begins at 6 p.m.
