  • U of M, Crookston, UND team up for first-ever MLK, Jr. Day celebration

  • The public is invited to the first area-wide Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration taking place in Grand Forks on Monday, Jan. 21, an event made possible by a partnership between the University of Minnesota, Crookston and University of North Dakota.
    The activities begin at 11 a.m. with a Unity Walk from Central High School to the Empire Arts Center. A program begins at noon in the Empire Arts Center with UMC Chancellor Fred Wood bringing greetings on behalf of the U of M, Crookston. Following the program, there will be a community social and refreshments will be served. The day’s activities are free and everyone is welcome to attend. Attendees are asked to RSVP at tinyurl.com/mcss-mlk.
    The Martin Luther King, Jr., Celebration is hosted by the Era Bell Thompson Multicultural Center at the University of North Dakota (UND) in partnership with the U of M, Crookston Office of Diversity Programs, the Grand Forks Air Force Base, UND’s Black Student Association, the U of M, Crookston Black Student Association and others.
