  • The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a blizzard watch from Saturday morning through Saturday afternoon. Although there is predicted to be minimal if any new snow accumulation, 30 to 40 mile per hour winds with gusts up to 50 mph will result in ground blizzard conditions with limited visibility in open areas.
Crookston is on the eastern edge of the blizzard watch area. Temperature will gradually drop to below zero Saturday afternoon with wind chills of 25 to 35 below zero.
The NWS states that it is important to realize that conditions in sheltered areas, cities and towns may be better than in open country, where visibility could be reduced to nothing.
