Age 78, formerly of Climax, Minn., he has several family members in the local area.
Ronald Dean Strommen, age 78, of Temecula, Calif., passed away Dec. 2, 2012 in Wildomar, Calif. after a long, courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service was held Dec. 5 at Calvary Chapel Bible Fellowship.
Ronald was born April 5, 1934 to Olaf and Thelma (Ness) Strommen in Bethesda Hospital in Crookston, Minn., which his grandfather had helped build. He grew up in Climax, Minn. and graduated from Climax High School in 1952. He married his beloved wife, Dianne, in Donaldson, Minn. on Dec. 28, 1957. They moved to California early in their marriage and have lived there ever since. Ronald enjoyed a 33-year career with UPS (United Parcel Service). He was active in his church and enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping and fishing.
Ron is deeply missed by his wife of nearly 55 years, Dianne; two sons, Kevin and Jeff; two daughters, Kelly Porche and Julie Sissoko; 10 grandchildren; and brother Donald Strommen of Crookston, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Maryann LeBlanc and nephew Dale Strommen.
Murrieta Valley Funeral Home of Murrieta, Calif. was in charge of arrangements.
