Investigation began a year ago when Solbergs went to Crookston Police.

    The former manager and treasurer of the Humane Society of Polk County, Tracy Janisch, 26, is accused of embezzling more than $30,000 from the organization between the summer of 2009 and January of 2012, according to information from the Crookston Police Department.

    A complaint/summons was served on Janisch for felony theft on Wednesday, Jan. 16, according to the CPD. It’s the culmination of an investigation that began almost a year ago, on Jan. 31, 2012. On that day, HSPC President Toby Solberg and Vice President Mary Solberg went to the CPD to report that Janisch had embezzled several thousand dollars from the organization. During the investigation, the CPD states, it was found that Janisch had falsified records, taken cash and embezzled more than $30,000.

    Janisch will appear in court on Feb. 6 at 9 a.m.
