  • The Pirates let go of a three-point halftime lead and lost 71-59 to East Grand Forks Friday on the road. Green Wave junior post Jim Warmack posted a game-high 28 points.
        Crookston led 36-33 at halftime but East Grand Forks outscored the Pirates 38-23 in the second half.
        Pirate junior post Michael Hefta recorded 16 points, while sophomore Aaron Hollcraft added 14 points and sophomore Ryan Porter had 11 points. The Pirates were a bit shorthanded going into the game when senior captain Travis Vatthauer became ill before tipoff and didn’t play.
        Crookston is now 5-5 on the season and will travel to Warroad Tuesday. On Friday the Pirates will host Roseau in their first home game since Dec. 14.
